Black Eye

K got her 1st black eye over the weekend. We were shopping at Target and she was in the cart- buckled in, of course. She's realizing that she can stand up and it's funny when I give her a reaction. So, rather than fight I put her in the basket of the cart- where you put what you're buying. She hit her face on the side of the cart and I actually thought she hit her mouth, but didn't see any cuts, so I thought everything was okay. Later on in the day, there was a mark on her cheek. Saturday morning, she had a black eye and Sunday, it was even worse. Talk about feeling horrible!! I feel like the worst parent ever that I let my little girl get a black eye. Even with the black eye, she's still the cutest little thing ever :)

Twins

Every now and then I like to dress K & I alike. I know, it's cheesy, but I can't help it. I'm a cheeseball when it comes to her. We went to breakfast on Friday morning and our shirts were simliar. She wore a little khaki skirt and I had on khaki shorts. We just need to get R a shirt like this and we'll be complete- just kidding.

Swing

R built a swing this weekend. It all started because we inherited a swing that was my grandfather's. It sat outside and I didn't take care of it so it became rotted and we weren't able to use it. We had some extra 4X4s sitting around so R built the frame for the swing and we went to Lowe's and bought the actual swing. I am so impressed that he could do this- he's so talented. K was helping R with the finishing touches this past weekend. We couldn't help but think she's ready for "Tool Time." R took a piece of my grandfather's swing and carved 2008 FD. (the year it was built and my grandfather's initials).

Clothes

K has a ton of clothes- believe me, I'd love to have her closet. R picked out this dress for her and put her hair in a headband. I couldn't help but do a photo shoot because she looked too cute in this little dress. The 1st picture is K taking the iced tea lid and throwing it in the trash can. Her favorite toys have been the iced tea maker and water bottles in the cabinets. And, she LOVES to throw things in the trash. Sometimes it's great because she's your helper. Sometimes it's not because she'll throw things out that we need.

Father's Day

We had a great day today celebrating Father's Day. K had a special outfit for today- it said, Daddy's Girl and it couldn't be more true! We were talking and this is R's 3rd Father's Day. I found out I was pregnant on Father's Day weekend in 2006.
K took her cards and presents to R and woke him up. He opened them, we got ready and went to breakfast. After breakfast we took a ride in the buggy and then all relaxed all day. Gramma and Pop Pop came over to watch K and M in the pool and then we had dinner. What a great Father's Day it was.

Heat Wave

Ready for the sun!Playing in the baby pool
Sharing with M
M & me swimming

We experienced a heat wave this past weekend. We didn't spend too much time outside, but when we did, we cooled off in our pool and in K's baby pool. Here are M and me swimming and a few photos of K in the baby pool. We did get in the pool on Tuesday night. She splashed her feet and laughed at the dog swimming. Hopefully by the end of the summer she'll really like it.

BBQ

We had a BBQ at our house on Saturday with some of my parents' friends from Florida and their family. It was really fun. K got to hang out with a little girl that is 10 days younger than her and a 3 year old. She also got to wear her beautiful new dress!

Rita's

K had her 1st taste of Rita's waterice on Saturday. We had a mango one and R had a blueberry one. She wasn't sure at 1st, but she soon realized that she loved it. She went back and forth between R & I. Also, notice her pigtails!!! I finally was able to get her hair up in them.
PS- Rita's has a new flavor this summer- Sweet Tea. Doesn't that sound absolutely delicious and refreshing??

Mom's 60th Surpise Birthday Party

We had a surprise party to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday on Friday night! My dad and I have been planning this for months and it was a success! She was definitely surprised! And even more suprised to see her Florida friends here and even more surprised to see my brother from California. We had a great time, although I think K had the most fun. We think she thought the party was for her!

16 Months Old!

K is 16 Months old today! I just can't believe it. She's walking all around, talking and putting words together, dancing, playing, and doing all the cute little things a little girl does. She has her "babies" (dolls) and bubbles always close by. Her hair, as you can see, is crazy curly. People are always commenting on it and wondering where the curls come from. Hmmmm... I wonder :) She has 7 teeth with a few more on the way. She has her 1st visible boo boo on her knee and will tell you "Boo Boo" and she started calling R "Daddy"! We're enjoying every day with her!
