Last Day at Leslie's

Today is Kate's last day at Leslie's. We are both so sad, but super excited for Kate. Leslie and her family have become part of our family now so we will be so sad not to see them all everyday, but know that we will be in touch, especially since Alexis is our babysitter :)

Thank you Leslie for all that you have done for us! I swear, if it weren't for you, Kate would still be on Stage 2 baby food :)

Look for some pics of Kate's 1st day of preschool, which are coming soon.

Last Private Swim Lesson

Last night we went to Kate's last private swim lesson. She is moving to a group lesson in 2 weeks. Her teacher said that she is doing great and has mastered all of the preliminary skills. Kate did her whole lesson with a big smile on her face last night. After swimming, we had "Chinese Noodles" or Lo Mein.

#2 on the potty!!!

I'm not going to post a picture, but Kate FINALLY did #2 on the potty last night!! I won't get into details, but I wanted to post this so that if she ever reads this, she'll know how excited we once were about this :) She came in and told me and her face lit up when I was jumping up and down and screaming. We took her to get an ice cream cone as a special treat.

Baking with Mommy

We recently made a dessert and Kate was very interested in helping me. Rich was able to get some pictures of us baking. Kate LOVED helping, although it was very tempting for her to not lick :) Who needs the KitchenAid stand mixer when you have this adorable mixer to help?

Swim Lessons- update

Kate had her swim lesson last night and she is really doing well with them. Lindsey said Kate is ready for a group lesson now because she is basically doing everything on her own. So, in the fall, she move to a 30 minute lesson and with a group of 4 kids. We are so proud. And nervous and excited. I'm so glad these lessons are paying off.
Think this will be the next face on the Wheaties Cereal box??

Brandywine Zoo

We took a trip to the Brandywine Zoo on Friday with my mom and dad. This was my dad's first trip to the Brandywine zoo in his life. The weather was perfect and the animals were all out and we were able to see everything. After the monkey house, we had a nice picnic next to the Brandywine River. I think everyone had a great time hanging out and the only thing missing was Daddy.

Kate chilling with the goats- I LOVE the look on her face :)
Kate and Namma telling Pop Pop- "You can't say RAAAAUUUUL!!" - an inside joke between them. When my dad yells, "RAAAAAUUUUL"(the phillies player), Kate says, "Poppy!!! You can't say WOWUUUL"

Pigtails

Kate's hair is getting so long, and Rich asks if we are going to cut it, and I don't think we will. Not for a while, at least. She has these beautiful ringlets. Anyway, as it gets warmer out, Rich has been putting her hair up to go to "school". The other morning, he tried something different and did pigtails. Kate LOVED it!! She kept looking in the mirror and was so excited about her pigtails. They are getting so long!!

You Better Work

Leslie sent this picture of Kate and some friends washing Leslie's car this morning. It just made me smile to see her washing the car. Guess she really did learn something from her Daddy :)

Our little girl is 2 1/2 today! I can't believe it. I may just take a picture with the bear anyway since it's been so long since I did. Stay tuned for a pic.

7 Years Engaged!

7 years ago today, Rich and I took a trip that Rich planned to Sanibel Island, FL. I had NO IDEA that when we got there, he was going to propose to me. We spent the entire day hanging on the beach, looking for shells, etc. It was so much fun. Then, we went to dinner and went to see the sunset on the beach. While we were there, Rich went to look for shells again. I was thinking, ok, wow, he's obsessed with shells. But, he said, Julie, I found this shell, take a look. I was sitting on the blanket and he got down on his knee to give me the shell and on the shell was my gorgeous engagement ring! I almost died. Rich said a lot of things, but I didn't hear a single word of it. We were engaged!! We called our family and friends to share in the news, and spent the rest of the weekend telling anyone that would listen! What a great weekend! So happy he asked, and even happier I said Yes!!
