Kate's last day of preschool at CPS

Today was Kate's last day of preschool at CPS. She will be there in the summer for camp.  It was her last day in her teachers' room- Mrs. Yoder and Mrs. Edwards.  I know Kate will miss them everyday, as will Rich and I. They were so wonderful, caring and creative. Kate has learned so much this year!!

Here is Kate doing her pose:

Kate with her teachers- Mrs. Yoder and Mrs. Edwards.  We LOVED them!!
What a fun school year it has been. Kate is doing things we can't even believe. She can write, count to 100, count in 10s, spell some words, do some math, cut with scissors, and is very athletic!

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

What a fabulous weekend we had!  We had plans each day, and spent the weekend together as a family, with family and friends!  The weather was perfect and it was a great weekend to celebrate being American!

I wrote about Friday in my last post.  Saturday, Kate, Brynn and I met my mom for breakfast.  Rich did work around the yard for most of the day.  The girls and I decorated the yard with American flags and had a picnic and we were all dressed patriotically.

Here they are helping me out

 Picnic time!

 My big girl!

Patriotic Babies!

All American Girls!

Later, we went to a BBQ at our friends' house- Tammy and Chris.

Sunday, Rich mulched all around the house and worked so hard.  The girls and I played outside.  Later that afternoon, we had a cookout here with our good friends & neighbors the C's and the L's.  And, what fun we had!!  My talented friend, Bri, took some of these pictures for us. How lucky are we??  She also took the photos of Brynn when she was first born. If I could figure out how to link these back to those, i would :)

Daddy & his baby girl

Kate & her BFF Ashley.  Kate & Ashley were so excited to see each other. Kate waited by the window all day for her.  Once they saw each other, they were literally together the entire evening.

Here we are :)

Rich brought out the slip and slide. It was 90 degrees and the pool isn't open yet, so instead, we got this out and it was a hit!!

Here is Brynn trying it out. She LOVES water so this was so much fun for her!

Look at these chunky little legs.  Gotta love her chunks!

Probably one of my all time favorite pictures ever!

Bri brought these ice cream cones and the girls took a break from the slip and slide to eat them.

Daddy & Brynn chilling

And, Bri was able to capture both Dillon and Brynn's 1st kiss ever.  Dillon leaned in and Brynn happily obliged, right in front of Daddy!  I'm just glad we were all there for the 1st kiss.

And, as always, Kate is the best big sister ever. She really truly is.

Kate & Ashley playing in the slip and slide having fun

Rich had to show the girls how to do it!  Look at all the kids watching him!

We also had the moonbounce out.  The kids had a ball on that too!

Kate & Ashley before the moonbounce and slip n slide.  These 2 love each other so much!  We couldn't be happier since their parents are such great friends of ours.

I Love this picture of Luke eating the water!  Also, all the kids are in it so I really love it.

Here is Kate running down the slip and slide

And, Brynn absolutely had a blast on the slide of the moonbounce. Look at how much she loved it!!
Almost everyone relaxing before the party was over.  What a fun Day!!!

It was our first cookout of the season and we had a blast.  We are so fortunate to have the C's live so close to us as they have been such great friends of ours and to have the L's live 3 houses down.  Since they have moved in, we have had so many fun times together, and are looking to so many more.

And, on Memorial Day, we went to Namma & Pop Pop's for breakfast. It was so nice and we had eggs and bacon, hashbrowns and toast. It was delicious! And, we got to hang out with Pop Pop, who is a veteran. Thanks for the delicious breakfast Namma & Pop Pop!  We took Kate to get a new pair of sneakers and then we came home and Lauren, Brian and Evan came over!  Rich and Brian were playing golf, an early Father's Day present, so Lauren and Evan hung out with the girls and me.  We were trying to keep everyone occupied, so we did a lot of things. One of those things was hanging in the baby pool.   Here they are:

Kate, Brynn & Evan playing

Evan & Brynn on the blanket. They played so nicely, shared and it's so fun that Brynn has another guy to choose from that is only 6 weeks older than her!!

I love this picture. It looks like Evan is handing over the toy to her, showing her what to do!  Lauren and I
were trying to keep everyone occupied, but had fun doing it! It was so nice to have her here to hang out with too! I know Kate & Brynn enjoyed their time with Evan too.  After, Rich & Brian came home and we had pizza. Kate had a blast playing with Brian.

Kate in her Memorial Day outfit!
We really are so lucky to have so many good friends close by with babies our babies' ages.

11 Months Old!

Brynn is 11 months old today!  She is such a sweet, laid back little baby girl.  She is moving all around (crawling, cruising) and she's pointing to everything and making a noise. So, we tell her what everything is.  She's getting better at drinking from her sippy cup, except her milk and is eating more and more table food every day.  She likes the bear again too :)

Park & Relaxing

Namma & Pop Pop picked Kate up from school today & she napped over there. When she woke up, they went to the park to play, and Rich, Brynn and I met up with them.  Kate is getting so good at all of the playground equipment.  Brynn went on the swing also, but wasn't a big fan of it.  Kate, Daddy and Brynn played on the rider animals (which were made in Lewisburg!!).

After the park, Kate went out to dinner with Namma and Pop Pop!  Rich, Brynn and I went to our favorite  Mexican restaurant and then to a garden shop to walk around.  While we were walking, I got some cute photos of Brynn.

I Love how her little piggy toes are on the tray:

We are loving this summer weather!

Last day at Goddard

Yesterday was Brynn's last day at Goddard. Oh, and it was pajama day too! It is bittersweet because she will be starting school where Kate is now, so they will both be together.  Kate can go and visit her at anytime, see her in the gym and play with her.  And, it means one drop off and one pick up- for the next 3 months, until Kate starts her new school.

It was a sad goodbye for me.  I felt so comfortable with her teachers- Ms. Kim and Ms. Kierra and I really believed that they loved Brynn. They were both crying when we left, I was crying, the teachers that came to say goodbye to her were crying. I guess our littlest monkey made a big impression.  They also made a little card for Brynn with all the hand prints from the kids in her class.  So sweet.

Wagon Ride

Our good friends gave us another wagon. So, we went from 0 to 2 wagons in a week.  Thank you, Joanna & Bridget! We LOVE the wagon and now they each have one to sit in. So spoiled, but we love it!

Fire Drill!

There was a fire drill at work today, which also affects Brynn's school.  While we were evacuated, they were as well, and I was able to find Brynn and this is how I found her :)  Standing, looking at all the people walking by :)

Fun Saturday!

Kate had her final dress rehearsal for her big dance recital, which is in a few weeks.  Today they wore their costumes, hair in buns and Kate looked adorable.  I have pics, but I'll save them for the recital day.

We took Kate and Brynn to Rita's tonight, after dinner with Grammie.  Kate got a vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles, just like her momma loves.  Brynn had her 1st taste of Rita's tonight- pear flavor.  She LOVED it.  She is doing so great with all her foods.  She had some bread and pizza at dinner tonight. And, loved them.  I think she definitely liked the Rita's more though.
After dinner, we came home and since it was such a nice night out, went for a walk.  Our friend gave us this wagon for the girls so we took them both for a ride.  Kate held onto Brynn and they loved it, but Brynn was trying to lean over, so we held her. Kate then proceeded to lay down in the wagon.  Another friend is giving us a wagon and I think it will be perfect to have 2- they can both lie down if they want :)

Bows

I can now get a real bow in Brynn's hair.  We never had to worry about getting a bow to stick in Kate's hair because she was born with a full head of thick black hair.  Brynn was born with barely any hair, but the hair she did have was very blonde.  It is getting blonder and growing in more and I can finally get any bow in it!  Here she is debuting her sister's bow

End of year picnic

We had the end of the year picnic at Kate's school tonight. It was a lot of fun. Everyone brought a dish and they provided hotdogs and pizza.  The kids loved it and had a great time.  They also had a face painter and a balloon animal designer.  We are really lucky that the school does such fun things for our children and it also gives the parents a chance to catch up.

Kate waited in line, by herself, and got her face painted.  She got a fish and loved it.  Taking it off was not a happy moment when it was time for bed.

Grocery shopping is fun!
