Rest stop & snack

When we were at the zoo this past weekend, Kate decided she needed to take a rest and sit and have a snack. Nothing like some cheetos and water to cool you down on a VERY hot day!

CHEEEESE!!!!

I got this picture yesterday morning sent to me on my cell phone. What a great way to start your morning!!! As you can see by the way Kate is dressed, it was unseasonably warm here again yesterday. Rich put her hair in little pig tails and she loves them. She was eating yogurt in this picture.
After work & school yesterday, we met some friends at the playground and played until it was time to go home for dinner. I took Kate down the slide, as did Rich, and her little foot, which had a croc on it, got stuck. She was crying, but saying, "I hurt my croc". It's so hard not to smile at that when she was crying, but it was cute how she thought that.
Oh, and Rich went to the Phillies game last night and got hit in the wrist by a foul ball. It broke his good watch, and he has a bruise, and unfortunately, didn't catch the ball. Maybe next time!

Funny you should say that

I keep a running list of things in my head that Kate has been saying and have been meaning to add them to this. Or, she'll say something and Rich will say, "You need to add that to the blog". So, I'm going to try to remember a few things and I'll just "blog them down" when they come to me.

Kate's new thing is to say to Rich, "Daddy, I have to ask you a question". And, then she proceeds to ask him a question.

She has also started to say, "I just want to watch my shows and relax a little bit". Ok, you're 2 :) Once we put shows on, she'll grab the "famote" (remote) and say, "I just want to check the weather" . She's going to be a weather girl just like me :)

As the weather is getting nicer, she's starting to notice all of the bugs and thinks that ants are "bisgusting".

Sorry to bore you with the little things she says, but I would love for her to be able to read this one day and look back and laugh.

Summer already??

What an amazing weekend! Friday we went to music, had lunch at Friendly's with Katie & Michael (Kate & Michael held hands as they walked to see the "animals" (the crane game filled with stuffed animals) and it was so cute. Friday afternoon, Kate & I played outside and when Rich got home, we had a pizza picnic and then off to Rita's.

Saturday, it was 85 degrees! In the afternoon, we played outside and got the patio furniture out. We keep it in the shed during the winter so we had to hose it off. This year, we had a little helper. Kate LOVED being able to help us! After we were done with cleaning, we went to Red Robin to eat outside. It was so nice to sit out and not be cold! AFter dinner, we walked around the little pond and fed the fish. We came home and played some more with Kate's bubble mower. Rich & I rented "Twilight". I've been reading the books so we rented the movie. Definitely LOVED the book, not a fan of the movie!

On Sunday, Kate & I headed to church. I've been telling her that she needs to be quiet in church because we need to listen to Jesus. As the priest walked in, she yelled, "There's Jesus!" She talked a little during mass, but for the most part was very well behaved. She loves to do the sign of peace. She even practiced it with me in the bath tub last night- it was adorable! After mass, we went to the zoo & Kate had a blast! She got to see the goats, feed them and pet them. I let Rich take her into see them because I think it's so dirty. After the zoo, we came home, had lunch, napped and played. We went to Grotto's for dinner, then Rita's again and then home to play and take a bath!

What an amazing weekend!

Dressing Up

Rich is in charge in the morning. He gets Kate up, gets her dressed and gives her breakfast. I get to pick out her outfit the night before and I LOVE it! He loves that time with her and I think it's great they have that time. Because I get to work so early in the morning, I don't get to see Kate until I pick her up from "school", so I don't get to see her in her little outfits, so Rich will send me pictures of her all dressed for school. That, and the movies he sends, are my favorite parts of the morning. Here are 2 pictures he took of her in her little outfit for school one day last week.
He gets them when she's coming down the stairs, and yes, she's doing it all alone now and has for some time. Our little girl is all growsed up :(

What a Weekend!!

Friday was gorgeous! We went to music, came home and played outside. We had our 1st picnic, or "pickmic" as Kate calls it. Friday night, Rich and i went out to dinner with some of our friends. We bought Kate a Barbie Jammin Jeep and she had a ball learning to ride it. This thing is awesome and I'm insanely jealous as I've always wanted a jeep. It goes forward in 2 speeds and even reverses!! She has a little trouble steering it, as you can see in the video, but she'll get the hang of it- she's only 2. I still can't drive and I'm, well, forget about that, but you get the picture :)
On Saturday, Kate and I headed to our nephew Bryce's soccer game and then went to see Matthew play in his. Rich tore up our front yard while we were gone and planted new grass. He did so much work on this yard, I really hope the grass grows :) Sat. evening, Rich, Kate and I went to dinner at Red Robin and ate outside. Then, we stopped at Ritas for Kate's favorite waterice- Mango! After dinner, Rich did more work, Kate helped with the bubbles and keeping Molly occupied.

I took Kate to church on Sunday and she was the perfect angel! She wore on of the Easter dresses that Namma bought her. After church, we played outside and then had lunch. We went to dinner with Grammie and Michael to Grottos and we lucked out- it was kids eat pizza free on Sunday. Kate ate 2 pieces and a lot of mine and Grammie's cucumbers from our salads.

Hope the weather was as nice where you are as it was here!

Lo Mein, or Noonles

We had P.F. Changs for Easter dinner. Yes, I know, I didn't cook on Easter, but I wasn't cooking for just Rich and me :) So, we went to PF Changs! Kate was THRILLED! She got to have her Lo Mein, or Chinese Noonles as she calls them. :)

Miss You and Love You, Poppy

Today is 7 years since my Poppy passed away. If you knew him, you know what a special man he was. He was the most loving, happy and wonderful, kind hearted person (and one of the best golfers) you ever would have met. I miss him everyday and would give ANYTHING for him to be here one day to see my life now and more than anything to meet and see Kate. He would LOVE every second with her. I can see the two of them dancing and laughing now. I know he'd be at our house everyday, or us there. He wouldn't be able to get enough of her. I miss calling him 4-5 times a day just to say hi or to see what he's having for dinner, or even just to check in on him. We had the best relationship and I'm so happy about the time I had with him. I miss you, Pop and love you so much.

Rainy Day Tuesday

Today is a miserable weather day here. It's cold and rainy- yuck. Rich sent me this picture above that he took at the park. I LOVE it! Come on, sun! We want to go out and play!!
My friend Rachel and I were talking yesterday and she suggested a fabulous idea to me- to start a topic of all the cute and funny things that Kate says and to post it on here. Rachel was visiting her nephews this weekend and her older nephew said something really cute to her, which prompted Rachel to ask me about what Kate says and if I write it all down. Rich's mom gave me a journal to write them all in, and I just need to find a spot to put the journal so I can quickly grab that and do that. But, I thought I'd start here- thanks Rach :)

"How it works?"- When Kate wants to know how something works.

When something won't work, she always tell us, "It needs Batteries"

I had to use the ladies room and Kate came over to me and said, "Mommy, I'm so proud of you! You want an M&M?"

We were talking to my mom on the cell phone one day and Kate had the phone and handed it to me and said, "Here Mommy, you hold Namma."

I'm sure the list goes on and on. As I think of things, I'll write them down.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We hope everyone enjoyed their day! Kate & I went to church this morning. She did great, although she sang "Take Me Out to the ball Game" whenever it got quiet. And, when the priest did the holy water, Kate yelled, "Mommy, it's Raining!" So cute and I didn't care!
We got home, at a breakfast of donuts and then opened our Easter Baskets- the bunny sure does know what Kate likes! Check out what she got!

After Kate's basket, we opened Daddy's and Molly's basket. Kate went for the "Reese's Peanut Butter Cups" rather than Daddy's deodorant- good choice, Kate! The Easter Bunny also hid eggs for Kate, so she went outside and found them! She did such a great job!

Kate found all of her eggs and each one had 2 jellybeans inside! After the egg hunt, we went to visit our neighbors and then Grammie and Michael came over to visit and the Easter bunny stopped there!!!

Daffodils

I LOVE going outside right now. It's still a little too cold for my liking, but the flowers are blooming and it smells so pretty outside. Kate LOVES to look at the flowers too. I took her out this weekend and was able to get these shots of her smelling the daffodils.

Easter Pictures

We had Kate's Easter pictures taken on April 1. She was a ham- wonder she gets that from ;) I took 2 outfits. The pink pants outfit is a hand me down from Kate's friend, B. And, the dress is one that my parents bought her for Easter. She did such a good job posing!!

Easter Eggs

I realized I never posted about dying Easter Eggs. Kate was feeling much better on Friday night, so we ordered a pizza, Nammie and Michael came over too, and we dyed Easter Eggs. Well, Rich, Kate and I did- Grammie & Michael watched. We had a dozen eggs and we were done dying in 5 minutes. Kate LOVED dumping the eggs into the little cups and then seeing the colors. She was obsessed with the yellow, which I thought was pretty funny. She did about 5 pink eggs too- my girl!! Rich dyed 1 egg, Kate did 11- all in the same amount of time :) Dying eggs this year was so much fun!!

Getting ready to start

So much concentration in this photo

Kate just decided to dump them in

Go Phillies!

Rich had his annual fantasy baseball draft all day yesterday so Kate and I hung out with all the "Fleece Widows" and did favors for Mike & Katie's wedding. It was a lot of fun and Kate was a trooper watching TV, eating junk, and getting lots of attention from the girls. She wore her Phillies shirt yesterday since it was opening day for the Phillies. Oh, and we got all of the favors done!

I wear my sunglasses at night

So, Kate has taken a liking to her sunglasses. She wears them EVERYWHERE. In the car, in the store, around the house. She just loves them. Here are some pictures we got of her in them at the park. She has 4 pair of sunglasses, but these were the ones she was wearing at the park.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my dad's 65th birthday! It's so hard to believe that he is 65. I spoke to him first thing this morning, and I was the 1st to call today. Have always had this secret competition with EVERYONE to be the 1st to call him and my mom on their birthdays. Kate called him at 7:30 and told him Happy Birthday and that he was old. LOL. He didn't care though. It came from her. He was spending the day fishing. I guess if he's not golfing, fishing is next best. Happy Birthday, Dad! Love you so much!!!
