Toad the Wet Sprocket

Rich & I went to see Toad the Wet Sprocket last night. It was a good concert and we had great seats. I kept having to ask Rich who we were seeing again. I recognized 4-5 songs, maybe, but it was still fun to get out. Rich knew every song, but that is from his era, not mins ;) My mom and dad watched Kate, which she loves. They played games and watched shows. It was a nice night, but going out on a school night kills me :) I guess that's just part of being old.

Learning early

I picked Kate up from school yesterday and a little boy on the playground came over to hug her goodbye. Kate turned her back and I said, "Kate, why didn't you hug Tim goodbye?" She said, "Because i'm tired". I was hysterical. Had to share :)

Sunday Morning Tradition

For over a year now, Kate and I have been going to church on Sunday morning, and if she's well behaved in Church, we stop at Dunkin Donuts on the way home. There's one near our house that the guy is a little rude- that's the "Not nice at that Dunkin Donuts" and there's one about 2 miles from us that is the "Nice at that Dunking Donuts". We determine niceness based on if they give Kate munchkins. We get a donut for Kate- she's been on a manager special kick lately, and 2 donuts or a breakfast sandwich for Daddy, and a bagel or donuts for me.
Anyway, it's our thing and I LOVE it. Sometimes Rich will join us for Church which is a fun thing because Kate gets a kick out of him being there.
Here are some pictures from this past weekend.

Nesting

I am in complete nesting mode. Rich brought all of Kate's stuff down from the attic yesterday so I am on a mission to get things organized. Last night I started to wash the newborn and 0-3 month clothes. It was so fun to go through all of Kate's older things and be able to use some of them for her baby sister. Kate was so excited to see all of her old things too. She's so interested in everything. We tell her about when she was a baby and used to sleep in the bassinet, or sit on the bouncy seat. Rich pointed out to me that some of Kate's little baby hairs were still on the bouncy seat. I saw them this morning and started to cry. Hormones, I guess :)

Well, the newborn and 0-3 month clothes are all washed. I'll put them away at some point and then get the crib made and start to get the other things set up. We have plenty of time, but I'm just like my dad and like to be prepared. I knew I should have been in the army. :)

Picnic time!

Kate LOVES having picnics outside. It's probably one of her favorite things to do. So, if the weather is nice, we are definitely taking advantage of it. We have jobs. I get all the stuff, she opens the door for me and I put the food on the step. She watches it so that Molly doesn't get it, while I spread out the blanket. Then, I get the food and she brings the drinks. When Daddy is home, it's a different story, but this is just when it's Kate and me. Here are some pictures from our picnic on Friday. We had one on Saturday with Rich, which was much better since we were all together.
Relaxing before lunch

Heart Shaped peanut butter & jelly sandwiches
After lunch swing. Rich built the frame of this swing and put a piece of my grandparents' swing on it for a beautiful memory of them. Kate actually helped him build this- when she was 1. LOL. She brought him the hammer, etc. It was outback, but never got used. Rich moved it to the front, and we LOVE it.

Spring Musical

Kate had her Spring Musical at school on Wednesday, May 12. I'm a little behind, but wanted to blog about it. It was ADORABLE. The theme was Alaska and Kate's class has been practicing for weeks.
Her class sang in the beginning with all the kids and at the end with all the kids, but it was still so cute to see Kate "on stage". They asked the parents not to wave at their child, but Kate kept turning to look to find us and she found all of us- Rich, me, my mom and dad. Here are some pics of her big stage debut:

A Newborn's Conversation with God

I thought that this was fitting considering yesterday was Mother's Day

A Newborn ' s Conversation with God A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don ' t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy." God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel ' s love and be very happy." Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don ' t know the language?" God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.." "And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray." "Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life." "But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore." God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you." At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel ' s name." God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

Sprinkle!

My friend Tammy hosted a "sprinkle" for me today to celebrate our new baby girl. It was a lot of fun & Kate was involved, which was so great for her. Everyone was so generous! Even though the invitation said no gifts, everyone still brought something, including tons of diapers! We are so fortunate to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives. Our girls are so spoiled by everyone- thank you!!

My beautiful sisters in law- Amy and Crystal and my belly :)

Tammy told me that a lot of people offered to help out and bring things. My mom brought the cake, which I was able to get a picture of. Thanks to everyone who brought something! It was all so delicious!

34

I can't believe I am 34 today! Actually, I'm not yet. I will be in about 30 minutes, so I'll savor 33, which has been an amazing year, but I know 34 will be great too. How can it not? I'm having another baby in 7 weeks and I'll be married for 7 years this year!

My day was perfect. I woke up, worked out, went to the grocery store and when I got home, Kate woke up. She and Rich gave me my birthday present and cards- an I pod touch!!! Kate & I went to my parents for breakfast and my dad made us breakfast. After that, Kate and I headed to the Flower Market and Rich met us to help me out with the rides since i wasn't allowed on. He left to go back to work and Kate & I had lunch.

We got home, napped and then Rich & Dad went to the Flyers playoff game and my mom came over for dinner. Rich came home with a cake so we had some of that and then went to Rita's for more dessert. What a great day!

Suprise Sprinkle at work!

I had a Dr. appointment yesterday- everything is going well so far. Baby's heartbeat is in the 140s and she's kicking away. I got back to work after my appointment and headed down to a meeting with my manager.

We walked into the room and everyone was saying, "Surprise!" I really, truly thought, "oh my gosh, we totally just walked into someone's party!" But, it was for me! I was so touched. We had the most amazing cake that a co worker's wife made. I took some pictures, but you have to bear with me. They were from my cell since I had no idea what was going on :) Everyone was so generous and caring and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with!

This is the top of the cake:

Here is a side view- she made a little clothes line around the side- adorable!

Caterpillar

I had to post this. Last week at school, the kids learned about caterpillars and how they turn into butterflies. They crawled around like caterpillars. So, I asked Kate one day what they talked about at school and she said, "Callapitters". It is the cutest thing you've ever heard. I absolutely love her little innocence.
