Saturday and Sunday

The rest of our weekend was fun. On Saturday, we took Kate to Petsmart. It was rainy and she loves going there- and it’s free! She LOVES to look at all the animals and we have a little routine. First we see the lizards- she loves to watch them. Next we look at the chinchillas and hamsters and birds. We make our way back to watch the dogs getting their haircuts and then end up with the cats. If we make it through 2009 without getting a cat, I will be shocked. She LOVES cats.

Sunday, my aunt and uncle came to visit from Little Rock, Arkansas. I haven’t seen them in 7 years so it was nice to see them again and for them to meet Kate. Kate had no trouble warming right up to them.

Rich came home just in time for Kate’s nap and when she woke up, it was about 70 degrees outside so we took her to the park to play. We had a blast. She loves to ride these little rides in the picture below, which were made in Lewisburg, PA!! Rich likes to ride them too :) We took her on a little walk on a trail around the woods and told her it was a “Nature Walk”. We went twice! We ended the evening with some Ritas and a hail storm!

Forest Fire

We took Kate to the park near my parents' house to play the other day. When we pulled up, I noticed smoke in the woods, but wasn't sure exactly what it was. Rich and Kate continued to swing and I noticed a couple going back to check out the fire and at the same time 2 teenage kids coming out of the woods and getting in their cars. I took down their license plate number and the other woman there was asking if we had a fire extinguisher. We didn't, so we called 911. Within minutes, there were about 10-12 volunteers and a firetruck. They got the fire out- it never really got too big, but could have been worse and after let the kids all sit on the firetruck. Kate was a little scared, but we were able to get a pic.

Home Depot

Kate had fun this weekend shopping with Rich at Home Depot. Although, I'm not sure who had more fun- Rich or Kate! Rich came home so excited that Kate "loves home depot more than me!" We'll see. I may have to take her to Canal Street and then we'll see which she likes more :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

While I'm not the least bit Irish, I still celebrate the day. We all managed to wear green today- even Molly (her collar is pink and green). I found this cute little T shirt for Kate at Target- it says. "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" I'd rather get her one that says, "Kiss Me, I'm Italian" but they don't make them for people her size :) I have no Irish in my blood, but Rich does so that means Kate does too, but we can all be Irish for the day.
PS- we had pizza for dinner. hahaha.Add Image

Cupcakes

Kate received a coupon in the mail for a free cupcake from a little bakery that specializes in cupcakes. We took her on Sat. and all enjoyed one. Kate got a vanilla one with sprinkles, I got the same and Rich had a Samoa cupcake- just like the girl scout cookie. Kate LOVED hers!

Just like Daddy

We found Kate in her chair with a screwdriver "fixing" her computer. I swear, she is just like Rich! And, we are pretty sure she is right-handed. There was a chance of her being left- handed because Rich is, but she's a righty.

Chinese, please

So, Kate has an obsession with Chinese food. When we ask her what she wants for breakfast, she says, Chinese. And, any other meal she wants is always Chinese. She is too funny. So, we indulged her and got her Lo Mein, or Noonles as she calls them and wontons. She won't eat the meat in the wonton, but loves the shell.

Please Touch Museum

Rich had the day off today so we took Kate to the Please Touch Museum. We had a great time and were so busy upstairs that we never made it to the bottom level, except to see a puppet show. We weren't sure if Kate would sit still, but she did great!
We went on the Merry Go Round- she wasn't too sure of it, but rode it alone, which was cute. They have a new room there where they put instruments that the kids can play- she LOVED that too! And, Rich found a room where you can make airplanes out of styrofoam and hoist them up a line and they fly down. Oh, and we found a room where you can do artwork so we have a picture Kate drew on the fridge now.

Before the snow...

It's hard to believe that we got all of the snow that we did yesterday. Last week, it was warm, we were at the park. Hopefully this is the last of it!

Anyway, we took Kate to the park to play (on President's Day) and she will now go down the slides by herself. She had a ball having us chase her all around.

Nor Easter on March 2!- updated with pics

Well, the weather people finally called it right, sort of. We got about 7 inches of snow, which is a lot for us. Rich and I both are working from home today, and I am debating taking Kate out to play in this- it's freezing, but so fun for her! Here are a few pics of our house and of Rich plowing- he did our whole street!!
