Pitar

That's Guitar for us, but Kate calls it her pitar. Rich got a guitar for his birthday. Kate is always asking him, "Daddy, play something for me." She likes to play too, which is so sweet. I found this little guitar for Kate so now she has her own. Rich found her one day playing the "Hello" song. She was singing, "Hello Reba, Hello Petsmart" I LOVE the way she thinks and sings.

Ayudame!

I had to blog this. Kate watches A LOT of Dora. Something she's been saying often, that she's gotten from Dora is, "Help Me!" "Ayudame!" I love that she's speaking spanish and doesn't even know it.

Weekend

As another weekend is approaching, I wanted to quickly share what we did last weekend. I just got around to putting the pictures on the computer last night.

Kate & I decorated our driveway with flags. She helped me by taking them and putting them where they needed to go. I got them into the ground, but I couldn't have done it without her help! We also went to the zoo and walked around with Ben and Maureen. After all the walking, we had a picnic by the river, with the ducks and geese.

Rich & Kate walking into the zoo- i LOVE this pic

Kate smiling for the camera
Feeding the goats. Kate couldn't understand why they didn't want to eat her 1 piece from her hand. Darn goats!!

Kate & Ben were more interested in the leaves and steps than the llamas and rheas.

After the zoo, we passed this fountain and everyone threw a penny in to make a wish. Here are Kate & Ben asking for more money- little beggars :)Picnic- we had a sandwiches, chips, cookies and only the goldfish went to the geese and ducks.
Kate & Rich feeding the baby geese

We went to a baby shower, a BBQ, planted some flowers and had our own BBQ! Here is Kate bringing me the shovel. Notcie her flip flops and cup with pink lemonade. "That's mines" (that's mine) as she likes to tell us. Here she is handing me the flower to plant- what a helper! What a great Memorial Day weekend!

Little Lady

I was in the kitchen and walked past the TV room and this is how I found Kate sitting. Doesn't she just look like a little lady with her legs crossed? She was enjoying a snack of goldfish and pretzels and some of my water.

Flip Flops

If you know me, you know I love flip flops, and it looks like Kate is going to share in that like as well! We got her some flip flops earlier in the year. I thought for sure she'd wear them because she's always walking around in mine. Nope. Didn't even want to try them. Out of the blue this weekend, she told me she wanted her flip flops. So, we got them out and tried them on a voila! We have a winner!

On a side note, the flips have a Princesses on them, which reminded me to write about this. We have a princess ice pack for Kate, for when she gets a boo boo. Whenever she gets hurt now, or if Rich or I get hurt, she asks for her Princess. Thought that was really sweet. She even wanted to put it on Molly's boo boo on her head.

Mother's Day pictures

This is a little late, I know, but I wanted to post some pictures from Mother's Day. Kate and I got up early and went to mass together. After church, we called Rich to see what he wanted from Dunkin Donuts and he said, let's go out, so we picked up my mom and the 4 of us went to breakfast. Rich told me on the way to breakfast that at 10:30, Kate and I had a Mother/ Daughter pedicure appointment! I was in heaven!!

Kate sat with me for most of the pedicure and she LOVED it. They just painted her toes, but it was so cute to sit and watch her. She did great. We got the same color paint.

We got back from our pedicures and played a little. Rich made Kate a new ride!

Later that evening, my mom and dad and Jane and Michael came over for lasagna. I made a pineapple upside down cake for dessert.

Thumbs up for one of the best Mother's Days yet!

Circus!

We went to the circus today and what a great show! Kate has been asking about the circus for 2 months and we finally went. We got a tip to go a little early to go on the floor and meet clowns, etc so we did and saw some clowns, ponies, and elephant! We even saw the motorcycle built on American Chopper for the show. The show started and we saw zebras, elephants, dogs, and finally the tiger. Kate had her 1st taste of cotton candy and liked it at first, but quickly gave it to me, which I didn't mind. It was so fun to be there with all of her friends too.

Storytime

My mom told us about an event at her library where they read stories to the kids. It's for kids up to 5, so we thought, "Let's give it a try!" We loved it! We got there, sat in the circle and listened to the stories about animals- very fitting for Kate because she LOVES animals. Then, the lady brought out music sticks (horrible pic of me with the sticks, but I was trying to get out of her way :) ), eggs, bells and the grand finale was Bubbles, scarves and a parachute. Kate was in her glory! We will definitely be going back to this event when it happens! Thanks Namma!!

Flower Market

I met a friend and we took Kate & her son, Nolan, to the Flower Market on Sat. What a beautiful day! Kate was SO EXCITED to get to the "carnival". We shopped a little then once she saw the rides, she wanted to get on them. Here they are waiting patiently, and Kate wore those sunglasses the whole time!

When it came time for us to get on them though, she was a little scared, but once they got going, she was fine. She and Nolan started out pretty far apart on this ride, but as the ride kept going, look at how close they are! (Nolan had gotten his face painted and Kate was looking at him like, "what is all over your face??" They also went on the Merry Go Round

We ate lunch, then headed home. What a great day!!

Birthday-33!

I celebrated my 33rd birthday this weekend and it was honestly, one of the best ones yet! I took a half day Thursday and was on my way to meet Rich, Jane & Michael for lunch. I was waiting for them to arrive and I see this box on the table and I looked up and it was my mom!!! They were supposed to still be in Florida! Right behind her was my dad and Kate! OMG! What a fun surprise. So, lunch turned into a birthday celebration for me and it was awesome. Rich got this adorable cupcake cake and it was delicious & perfect- pink and green :) This was definitely one of my best birthdays so far! I'm a very lucky girl!

Cinco De Mayo

I am behind in my posts, but hey- what can you do- we had a busy weekend! Ben and Maureen came over for cinco de mayo. We had chips & salsa, guacamole, soft and hard tacos, beans and rice. Here are some pics of Kate & Ben.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers that read this. I especially want to wish my mom a very Happy Mother's Day. I LOVE YOU!! And, to Kate- thank you for making me a mother! I LOVE you every single day more and more.

Working from home

I had to work from home on Monday and Tuesday because our daycare provider had the flu. She was open, but we didn't want to chance Kate getting sick, so I am very lucky that I was able to work from home. I set up the computer at the kitchen table and went into the other room to grab something and when I came back, this is what I found. Kate was working on the "compoooter" like Mommy. She takes both mine and Rich's security fobs, which we use to log onto our systems, and calls them our "work".

My Poor Baby

i've been working from home yesterday and today so Kate and I have been spending some really good time together so I've got a bunch of things that she's been saying:

She sneezed and looked at me and said, "My poor baby" I guess we say that a lot when she sneezes.

She was looking at Molly and said, "Mommy, Molly is ashamed." She has no idea what that means, but she said it!

She's been singing songs for days now too. It's funny to listen to her and the words she comes up with for the songs- gets that from me. For example, one of the songs is "Down by the Bay" and Kate sings "Down BobbleBay". Rich and I were cracking up when we heard it.

Exercises

I can't believe I'm even going to post these pictures (just because I'm in it), but it was too cute not to pass up. I was doing sit ups one afternoon and Kate decided she wanted to do sit ups too. Rich got this picture of us "working out" together!
