It's been a while since my last post. It's been a little hectic to say the least. Last week, Kate ended up with the stomach bug. She's better now, but that was no fun for her! It's the worst to see your little child so sick and there's nothing you can do.
We had a Dr. appointment for #2 on Friday. All is well. My c section will be on June 28, which was such a special day for me before, and will be even more special if everything goes as planned. June 28 was my Poppy's birthday. He was one of the best men you'll ever meet. He was so funny, kind hearted, loving and intelligent. He was one of my best friends and I miss him more than anything. So, for this baby to share a birthday with him would mean the world to me. If he/she doesn't, that's okay too- just want the baby to get here when it's supposed to :)
And, for everyone that's been e mailing and calling and asking, we have our big ultrasound on February 9. Praying that everything is where it needs to be, he/she has all the parts that they need and that everything is just okay in there. As far as boy/ girl, we really don't care. Kate thinks it's a boy, but then says it's a girl, so who knows!! As long as he/she is healthy, that's all that matters.

Baby kicks
I've been feeling the baby kick or move for the past 2 weeks, but it became a lot stronger and noticeable this weekend. So, yesterday, while Kate was napping, I was catching up on some TV and felt him/her moving around and I put my hand on my belly to see if I could feel it from the outside and i could. I couldn't wait for Rich to get home from work, or Kate to wake up from nap to feel it, but I think it was naptime for this one too.
So, last night, we were sitting watching TV and I felt the kicks again so I had Rich come over and put his hand on my belly and he felt them too! It's so much more real now :)

Holidays
I know the major holidays are over, but if you know me, I decorate for almost every holiday. So, this morning, I took Kate to get her 2nd H1N1 shot and I told her we'd decorate for Valentine's Day when we got home. She kept saying, there will be a moonbounce and I couldn's understand what she meant. well, I figured it out. She thought I was saying, "Bounce House Day." So, she thought
there would be moonbounces. I had to write this down so I never forget it.
I also wanted to write about what she got Rich and me for Christmas. We each took her out and let her pick something to get us. For Rich, she got him a hammer and she got me a little snowman stuffed animal.

School Today
Kate got her progress report at school and is doing so great! Her teachers said she is independent and doing well for being one of the youngest in her class :) She has mastered the skills that they are looking for and has developed some new ones from October to January. Now, this is just what they see in the classroom, not at home. Kate LOVES her artwork. She is learning how to use scissors too :) We love her artwork too. Great job, Kate! xoxo

Fun Day!
Kate and I had a great day. We started out the morning with a follow up ear appointment to check her tubes. They are both still in, although the right one is ready to come out. The left one is soon to follow. Immediately following the appointment, Kate and I headed to a toy store to meet B, A, & D. The girls played and B and I chatted. After the toy store, we headed to Friendly's for a yummy lunch. Then, home for naps. I should have napped, but I worked on Kate's birthday invitation instead :)
Tonight, Ben is coming over with Ken for dinner and to play.
Kate is full of friends today and loving it!

Kate is Famous!
Well, sort of. One of our neighbors hosted a little get together on Sunday to watch the Eagles get beat by the Cowboys :( . Another neighbor who we've become pretty close with brought their newborn son, Luke. Jenn, Luke's mom, took pictures of Kate and Luke in their little Eagles outfits. Well, Jenn's uncle works for Channel 6 News and asked for pictures of Luke, so he could see him. Jenn sent the picture she took of Luke and Kate, and guess where it ended up?? Here is the link. They are the 3rd row down, middle picture!!

Big News!!
Kate is going to be a big sister!! I'm pregnant!! We are all so excited and can't wait for the summer to get here. I'm due July 3, but the baby will be born in June. So far, so good. We are so thankful and so blessed! Kate is super excited. She tells everyone there is a baby in her belly, or that it is in my leg. She thinks it's a boy, but also a girl- there's only 1 :) Here's the baby's 1st appearance on this blog.
We told our parents on Christmas Eve by wrapping this picture in a frame. Everyone was shocked, especially since I have such a big mouth and was able to keep this a secret for so long! It's so fun to watch everyone's reactions, but Kate is the best. As soon as we told her she said, "can i pet it?" She pets the baby, hugs it and kisses it all the time. It's so precious.

New Years Eve 2009
Earlier in the day, our friend Maureen called and asked if we could have Ben over for lunch. As I've mentioned before, Ben is Kate's best friend. So, we had lunch, napped, played and then got ready for dinner. This was Kate's 1st sleep over with a friend so I had to mention :)
Rich and I have had a tradition since we started dating that we get Chinese food every New Year's Eve and to keep up with that tradition, we made reservations for PF Changs. Our friend Katie came with us too this year.

After dinner, Katie went home, Kate went to bed and Rich and I watched a movie, and he kept me up as I dozed off and we watched the ball drop together :) Happy 2010! I brought it in just the way I wanted to :)

Big Girl Bed!
Over the holiday on Dec. 27, we moved Kate out of her crib and into her big girl bed. Rich worked so hard to paint the room pink and green, just like Kate wanted, we got a new carpet, new bed set and furniture.
Here we are going in for her last nap in her crib:
Last nap in her crib- I can't even believe this day is here :(
Last sleep in her crib:
First nap in her big girl bed- how pretty is everything? Rich did an amazing job with her room- I secretly want her room :). She was SO EXCITED to get in her bed and take a nap. She didn't go right down. She played a while in the bed, looked at her comforter and said, "You don't get out of the bed. When you wake up, yell "Mommy, Daddy I'm awake and they'll come get you!"
First bed time in big girl bed. She climbed in and said, okay, goodnight, leave! Our little baby is growing up!
She has been in the bed for almost a week now and is doing so well. She absolutely LOVES it in there!

Christmas at Grammie's 2009
We celebrated Christmas with the Rich's family on Dec. 27. Jane had us all over in the morning and there were donuts out. We tore through our presents and had a blast. After presents, we had lunch and hung out and talked. We do a polyanna for the adults. I had Amy and Rich had Greg. Greg had me and Chelsea had Rich. It's a lot of fun. This year we did whatever you wanted to do. Most people did gag, but I did get Amy something real :)

Christmas Day 2009
Merry Christmas! We are a little behind on the blog, but wanted to post pictures from our wonderful Christmas!
Santa got his cookies and left a not for Kate:
We woke up Christmas morning and Santa came! I woke up first, then woke up Rich and Kate.
Kate was SO EXCITED to see all the Dora paper and that Santa came!
She got a kitchen and was thrilled!
She got a Dora mermaid for the tub
Baby Jaguar and Zhu Zhu playing
Kate giving Daddy his Phillies hat.
Opening her Baby Alive doll
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care:
After we opened presents, Mom and Dad and Uncle Fred came for breakfast and we talked afterwards. My mom has been making breakfast casserole for Christmas morning for as long as I can remember. She still makes it, with cinnamon buns, but we've moved it to our house so Kate can enjoy her presents.
Later in the day, we went to see our neighbors Jenn, Jeremy and Luke, came home, took naps and everyone came for dinner. Mom, Dad, Jane, Pap Pap, Uncle Jimmy, Chelsea and Michael all were here for lasagna.
What a perfect Christmas! Kate was so much fun this year! She LOVED all the paper, wanted to play with each toy as she opened it, and had a permanent smile on her face. She was so excited Santa came too.

Christmas Eve 2009
We started out Christmas Eve with 4pm Mass, followed by dinner at our house with my mom and dad. Here is Kate all dressed up and ready to go:
After dinner, we opened presents with Namma and Pop Pop. Kate got an easel and she and Pop Pop wrote a letter to Santa:

Kate also got a cooking set with an apron, binoculars and goggles. She would NOT take any of these things off :)
After we opened presents, we sprinkled food for the reindeer. We wanted to be sure they were fueled up for the big trip!
And, we left some cookies for Santa too!

After that, it was off to read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and then to bed.
