Family picture
Kate took this picture of Rich and me today... we thought it was pretty good for a 3 year old.

Shirley Temple
I can't help but to think of Shirley Temple when I see this. My grandparents and I used to watch a movie "The Little Princess" and that's all i can think of right now with Kate in this dress. I had the same hair as Kate when I was growing up and people used to call me Shirley Temple all the time :)

Going to enjoy our last day as a family of 3 today and anxiously awaiting to become a family of 4, well 5 I guess, if you count Molly ;)

Inside picnic
We've had a few thunderstorms this week, most likely because it's the hottest week of the year. Kate wanted to have a picnic, but it started to rain, so we just moved the picnic inside. So fun :)

I think Kate's last week as an only child has been fun. We had this picnic, played outside, we got pedicures yesterday and this morning she's going to breakfast alone with Namma and Pop Pop to I Hop! Rich & I want to go, but I have my final Dr. appointment this morning.

Splash Day
Yesterday was Kate's 1st splash day. She LOVED it. She got to go to school in her bathing suit and cover up and crocs. They set up little baby pools and sprinklers and they kids all played. She said she had a great time.
When we got home from school, Rich was staining the fence and Kate said, "I'm his helper. He needs me to help". But, we watered the flowers, took a shower & watched shows instead. I've been able to spend the past few nights just me and Kate, which I am loving and so thankful for Rich. If he were in the room, she'd ignore me- she's a Daddy's girl :) So was I.

Last Day of work....for a while
Today is my last day of work until October! I can't believe it's already here. Time has flown by. So far, the baby seems content and not wanting to come out any sooner than Monday, which is fine by me. We are so excited to see her and meet her and most excited about seeing Kate with her :)
Looking forward to a relaxing, yet VERY HOT, weekend by the pool hanging and spending time with Rich and Kate :)

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to my own Dad and to my husband. Kate & I are so lucky to have the best dads who are there for us and support us. Thank you both!
Rich and Kate had a great day! Rich opened presents( he got a Phillies towel, Phillies pens, a photobook that he gets every year, and a little rock man that Kate made at school). This is a picture of the rock Kate made for Rich. When the teacher and I were looking for her rock, I saw that a lot of them had tons of hair and I said, Kate's may not... and sure enough, it didn't- just a little bit on the sides as Kate likes to point out.

He also had donuts with Kate and then they went on their first ever fishing trip! Rich bought Kate a princess fishing rod and she LOVED it. I asked her if I could go and she said, No. So, just the two of them went. He let Kate touch the worms and the fish- she was asking to and she told me she caught 5 fish!
Kate caught this fish!

Always need a food break...

Best buddies...

Kate insisted on wearing her Phillies shirt like Rich

So proud of herself for touching this fish!

Later, my mom cooked us a delicious Thanksgiving dinner- turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy and cranberry. It was so delicious.
What a great day they had (and me too for not being a Father :) ).
We thought maybe Rich would be celebrating for 2, but no luck. She's still holding on for next week :)

Ultrasound and No mercy
We had our last ultrasound yesterday. Our baby girl is growing and filling out. Her little cheeks are so chubby already and she is ready! If all goes as planned, she will be here in 10 days! Unbelievable!!
On the way home though, I got a ticket. UGH. I was admittedly speeding, but you'd think he'd have a little mercy and let me go. Nope. I got the ticket, he met his quota.

Another Baby Sprinkle
Rich's work threw us a baby Sprinkle yesterday to celebrate our upcoming arrival. Kate was invited to this one, so I met Rich at his office and we celebrated with his work friends. Everyone has been so generous to us and we are so grateful. We had chips, dip, veggies, and cake. Kate had 2 pieces of cake- she has a sweet tooth like another girl in our family. Kate also got a gift- a bubble blower and she will be in heaven with that. Thanks everyone for the sprinkle yesterday! We had such a great time and this baby girl, and us are all so spoiled.

Bad Aim
Since this is a blog about our family and I want to go back to this someday and remember the stories that happened, I thought I would write this one out. If you get offended, I'm sorry.
Yesterday, I went to pick Kate up from school. I saw her on the playground in her back up outfit. Now, Kate hasn't had an accident in a while, so I was thinking to myself, what is going on? I saw another Mom with her daughter's clothes in a bag, and saw some other kids clothes hanging in bags. I was thinking- maybe they had a water day and we didn't realize it. Nope. I wish. I get to Kate's cubby and there are her clothes in a bag, with a note- " Kate was in the bathroom while another boy (with really bad aim) was in there and he accidentally urinated on her dress". Seriously?!? Kate came running up to me in the playground and told me what happened before I could even ask. I guess there's a first time for everything.

Sunday best
Kate & I go to church every Sunday morning. I love to put dresses on her and as soon as we come home, we change into our "comfy clothes" and more recently, into our bathing suits. Anyway, here is a picture of Kate from yesterday. I LOVE this dress on her. It has little monkeys on it and she was in love with them.

Italian Festival- June 11
We took Kate to the Italian Festival on Friday night. I used to go every night as a little kid, and as I've gotten older, I've never missed it. So, we decided to take Kate on Friday night. We got there early for some good Italian eats. Rich & I had panzarotti, which are inverted pizzas. Kate had a slice of pizza and Rich got a meatball sandwich. Namma and Pop Pop called and they were there too, so they met up with us.

After dinner, we headed over to the rides. Kate was SO EXCITED to get on the rides. While there, our friends Mike & Katie came, as well as Joanna & Bridget. It was so fun to see everyone.

Rich took Kate on the rides, but she only wanted to get on 3 of them. But, they had a blast anyway! I'm still trying to figure out who had more fun on those rides though ;)
Iris's Baby Shower
I have been lucky enough to go through this pregnancy with 2 of my best friends. My friend Lauren had her baby Evan in May and my friend Iris is due with her baby boy at the end of July. So, it has been fun to share stories and go through this adventure with them.
Iris's shower was on June 5 and Kate was invited too. She and I got dressed up to go to it and here we are, all ready to go.

Blue Rocks Game- June 5, 2010
We took Kate to her 1st Blue Rocks Game on June 5. It was a last minute thing and our friends M, A, & D met us there. It was an early game so it was perfect for us.

Rich & Kate brought their gloves in case we got any foul balls.

Here is the whole crew before the game started.
What may be our last family photo of just the 3 of us!
Our spur of the moment Blue Rocks game was a lot of fun. We are really glad we got to take Kate to one. She LOVED the team mascots the most :)

What may be our last family photo of just the 3 of us!

Kate & her Daddy- they LOVE being together and hanging out.

Kate & A sharing a lemonade. When these 2 are together, they do everything the same. It is so adorable to watch. Here, they were sharing a pink lemonade and taking turns taking sips.

The Stadium has a moonbounce set up for kids, as well as an inflatable batting area. It's really great for kids because, I know, sitting through a whole baseball game can get pretty boring, especially when you are 3. Here are Kate & A on the moonbounce.

Sliding down the bleachers is fun!

Happy Birthday, Mom!- June 6
Happy Birthday, Mom! My mom celebrated her _ _ birthday on June 6. We all went to dinner and had a cake. Kate even sang happy birthday this time- she's usually so excited about the singing, she doesn't even sing herself.

Enchanted Woods- Winterthur
Finally caught up! Kate & I met our good friends B, A & D at Winterthur yesterday to frolic through the Enchanted Woods. B heard that kids dress up in tutus and wings, so of course our girls had wings and tutus. It was so much fun!
Two fairies on the tram car
Fairies holding hands
Checking out the frog that squirt out water
This looks like it could be trouble.
Troll Bridge :)
Hanging out for a snack
D even had a great time!
Checking out the fairy sculptures
This was water spraying out of these toadstools. Kate LOVED this, and I think I did even more- especially with the humidity last week.

What a great day we had! Thanks B, A & D for sharing it with us!
Kate waiting for B, A & D to get here.

First Day in 3 year old Room- June 1, 2010
Kate started in the 3 year old room, with a new teacher, new toys, new cubby, new everything! She did so great on her first day! The summer program sounds like so much fun- they have something planned for the kids each day. On Wednesday, June 2, they saw the play Snow White and on Thursday, June 3, Mr. Softee came and they all got ice cream cones. Sounds like my kind of school :)

Memorial Day Weekend
We had such a great Memorial Day weekend! On Friday, we met our friends Mike & Katie for dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant. On Saturday, Rich and Kate had their 1st catch- our phuture Phillie :) Our good friends the C's got their daughter a pink glove. Rich took one look at it and had to get Kate one. So, here they are having a catch.

Teaching Kate how to not throw like a girl like her momma
Great throw!
On Sunday, Kate and I hung out in the pool for our first pool time of the season. She did so great! Even Molly LOVES it again this year :) We decorated the driveway with American flags and then Namma and Pop Pop came over for a BBQ.

On Monday, Kate was up at 6:30 asking to get in the pool- my girl :) We waited until 9, but Daddy was home and was able to enjoy it with us. We went to a BBQ at Jenn and Jeremy's and then Mommy went out with my friend Bri to see Sex & the City 2.
