Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a great Easter! We definitely did. We started out our morning with finding candy in the bedrooms that the bunny left! We also found out the a Easter bunny came and left baskets for everyone! We went to church and then can home and ate hot cross buns. After that we had an egg hunt with the eggs the bunny left. The eggs were filled with puzzle pieces and money. We took naps and then. Had dinner with pap pap and Jane. The kids were so wound up but had a blast!!!

13 months old

Chase is 13 months old today. He's such a little love. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter little guy to complete our family. Chase is completely off of baby food and has been for quite sometime. He's eating all sorts of food but I think pizza and cheeseburgers are his favorite. He loves sweets too. He is taking lots of steps. Kate carries him everywhere so he has no need to walk. He's doing really well in his new classroom. He has been there almost a month and already has 2 incident reports. From accidents. Poor guy is a bruiser. He is talking up a storm. He says about 10 words clearly now. He LOVED his mama but he squeals with excitement when he sees his daddy. He absolutely adores his sisters too. Chase is super ticklish too. March 25, 2013 - Snow Day!

We've been waiting all winter for a snow day. On the 5th day of spring, we finally got one. I got a call to come and get Kate because school was closing. So I picked up Brynn and Chase and then headed to Kate's school. We had lunch, napped, worked and then they played outside! It was really Brynn's 1st time actually playing in the snow! Chase too! He sat in his buggy and held out his hands and squealed. It was really cute. He was over it quickly so we sat in the garage and played so the girls could play more. After playing, we came in for some hot chocolate!

Reading

Kate has been showing more and more interest in reading. We try to read to her every night but sometimes that just doesn't happen. Well, tonight she read an entire book (61 pages to be exact!) to Brynn, Chase and me. She read "Put me in the Zoo". She did amazing!!! I was in tears when she finished because I was so proud.

Captain

Kate has been participating in a soccer clinic every Sunday for the past few weeks. It's just to help the children with some skills. 2 Sundays ago, she did really well. She was going after the ball and just getting herself in there. The coach recognized it and made her captain for this week! After talking to another parent of an older child who is involved in this league, I found out that this coach doesn't just make someone a captain every week. He will pick the same player to be captain if they deserve it. So it was a big deal Kate was captain this week!! Go Kate!!!

Playing at the park

Yesterday after celebrating Rich's birthday with his family at breakfast, we headed to the grocery store and then off to the park. It was a little warmer so we thought it would be fun to finally get outside. Everyone had a blast playing!

Easter Egg Hunt

Rich had a tournament with some of his college friends on Saturday. It was warming up and I debated taking Kate, Brynn and Chase to an Easter Egg Hunt in our township. I was nervous to have them all on an open field with tons of people. But, it was beautiful out and they behave so I gave it a try. I am so happy we did it! When we got there, they had rows marked with age brackets. Of course Brynn was on one end and Kate was on the other. So Kate and I made a plan where to meet. There were tons of eggs so Brynn and I didn't get very far into the field because she was having a ball right where she was. She's really into ring pops right now( because Kate is) and they had bunny ring pops and she was in heaven. Chase just took it all in. I looked up and saw Kate heading back so I got her. We even had a visit with the Easter bunny! What a fun day!!!

Happy Birthday Rich!!

Happy birthday to Rich!! We started his birthday by placing balloons throughout the house for him (we bought them the night before and hid them). When he came down in the morning, we opened his presents quickly before we all left for work/ school. Rich got home from work and went to a NCAA basketball draft and we had a cake there waiting for him. We also baked him a spice cake. Because we never got to sing to him, we did that tonight. Everyone had a chance to blow out the candles. Happy Birthday Rich! Hope you had a great birthday!! We love you so much!!

Big girl bed for Brynn!

Two cribs down, one more to go! Brynn has moved into her big girl bed. Rich put it together this morning and she took a nap in it. She was so excited- they all were- and so happy! She couldn't wait to go to bed tonight. Lets hope she stays this way. Her bedroom looks beautiful with her ladybug comforter. The bright colors are perfect for Brynn. That was her last "baby thing". Goodbye crib! Hello big girl!

Spring weather and Rita's

This past weekend, we experienced sprig like weather. I think it made it into the 60's on Sat! Kate, Brynn and Chase were able to play outside. Because everyone had colds, I bundled them up. We soon changed our jackets. After playing for a while, we went to Rita's. We had to let Chase experience his first Rita's. He loved it although it doesn't clearly look like it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We woke up this morning and found that a leprechaun came to our house and left chocolate hold coins in Kate's, Brynn's and Chase's room! That silly leprechaun also left a bag of skittles in the colors of the rainbow with a "pot of gold" at the bottom! Thanks leprechaun!! We didn't do much else to celebrate. We did have meatballs for dinner. They are Irish, right!?!

Daddy Daughter date night

Chick fil a has a daddy daughter date night every year. Rich has taken Kate but this year Brynn joined in on the fun! They had a great time.

Chase's 1st day at CPS

Today was Chase's first day at CPS. He's in the onesies room where Brynn was last year. He had a great first day. Brynn was super excited to have him there too. She had a hard time leaving him though. They told me they let her go and see him. What an awesome big sister!!

Chase's 1st birthday party

We had Chase's birthday party today. It was so nice to have our friends, family and neighbors all together. We had tons of food, a face painter and lots of cake. Chase didn't seem to mind everyone being there. He had his own smash cake and was hesitant at first, but after Rich let him taste the icing, he was all over it! What a fun day to celebrate out little guy! Happy Birthday Chase! You had a blast!!

Brynn's 1st birthday party

Brynn was invited to her first party without her family this weekend. It was for her good friend Gianna. Rich took her and said she had a blast. As soon as the birthday girl came in, she ran to hug her mommy and then Brynn. He said they embraced for a while and just played together the whole time. Brynn had a blast!! She went down the moonbounce by herself and everything! What a big girl!!
